    This is a great class for both beginners and those of you who have already dipped you iron into the basics of soldering. This is a great way to display family photos or a treasured found object. You will learn how to cut glass, basic soldering techniques, tinning with solder, how to patina solder, and explore different ways to add objects to dimensional structures. You will also learn how to tack solder pieces together to create larger dimensional works of art. The techniques you learn in this class can be applied to numerous projects. The decorative papers you choose and the banner title will tell your own personal story. This is both a process and project workshop with the emphasis being on soldering techniques.

    Materials fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes Precut glass, 2 hands, 4 wooden feet, The banner (5 paper ticket triangles and twine)

    Supplies Provided by Instructor: Soldering iron, Solder Flux and flux brush, 3 Box weights (to support vertical sections when soldering), Copper tape, Plastic Clamps, Sanding blocks, Standard soldering supplies, Soldering stands, Solder patina, Bamboo skewers, Alphabet rubber stamps, StazOn ink

  • Cutting Surface.
  • 10 pieces of decorative paper (dimensions are larger than overall piece, you will cut them down to size in class)
    • 2 for the back: 6” x 6”
    • 8 for the sides: 6” x 4”
  • Self clamping tweezers

  • Pair of gardening or utility gloves
