Fabric Paper Sunday 9 - 4:30 $135 Jane Davies
Student Level: All - no experience necessary
Type of Workshop: Process/technique oriented with optional project
Fabric-paper, as its name suggests, is a hybrid of fabric and paper, having the versatility of paper and the strength of fabric. It is made by layering fabrics and papers on a background of muslin or printed cotton, using diluted PVA or matte medium, and further embellishing with paints. We’ll spend the morning creating richly painted papers and the afternoon layering them with fabrics and ephemera to make a gorgeous stash of fabric-paper. During the workshop I will demonstrate my method of assembling a no-sew fabric-paper mini-quilt, but you may use your fabric-papers for many other mixed media projects.
