While shopping in Round Top, I found a group of vintage mother of pearl belt buckles.  As I held them in my hand, what I most noticed was their unique shapes, and how fun it would be to use them as frames in my jewelry.

Come join me as I share the techniques used to design the pieces I call "Framed", which were published in the Winter 2011 issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry. 

In this class you will learn how to cold join layers of nickel silver, copper or brass; then topping it with a vintage mother of pearl buckle.  I will teach you a method of drilling through fragile mother of pearl.  You will have the option to practice different types of texturing techniques, and how to apply enamel.  You’ll have the option to fill your frame with a favorite picture and/or words, then seal it forever behind mica. 

If time permits, the final design options for the necklace portion of "Framed", will be discussed.
