Type of Workshop: Process and Project
This is a 6 hour workshop taught on two evenings.
Bling is the thing! Tiny fiery sparkles make for an elegant addition to an evening outfit, and you made it!
Students will make a mold of a favorite antique button or barrette and use PMC and tiny cubic zirconia to create a wonderful little pendant. Bring a fine 18 inch silver chain so you can wear it right away!
IDEA: If you're interested in this workshop, you may also be interested in Silver Lilies for the Bride. You could create your own sparkly focal point to personalize your Silver Lily piece. How beautiful that would be!

Supply List:
I suggest you bring all these things to any jewelry making retreat:
- Craft light with extension cord with multiple plug
- Magnifiers or Optivisor
- Rubber block with cut outs
- Chain and long nose pliers
- Fine fiber wheels from Rio Grande part number 338123
- Sharp craft knife
- Metal 6 inch ruler
- xfine marker
- Tweezers (always have them whether you think you need them or not)
- 00 fine round brush
- Small bowl for water
- Mug warmer if you have one
- Small piece of teflon sheet to work on
- Needle Tool
- Of course you will need a favorite button, I will have a few there in case you aren’t able to find one. You will want to use a small one for your first piece, less than an inch diameter.
- It would be an advantage to bring a variable speed Dremel (cordless if possible) with adjustable chuck (amazon.com part number 4486) or a Flex shaft with extension cord (useful for all your jewelry classes at Adorn Me)
- Important Item for a more satisfying experience: In this workshop the stones are so tiny that a very light touch Titanium tweezers is the optimal tool. This will not only assist you with this project, but will give you years of special service unique to these tweezers. You will not have the same experience with stainless ones.
Otto Frei has a beautiful 6 inch pair of Fine with a perfect textured coated tip rather than serrations or crosshatching. This allows far more control with such tiny stones. 157-697T at $39.95 if 10 people were to purchase together you could get them for 35.96 each instead. Individual shipping will be around $9.00
Rio Grande has a pair of Fine also for only 21.50, but the tips have that crosshatch serration which will fight you a little. Not that you’d notice much at the beginning, but you will buy a different pair if you choose to do more pave and then you have spent way more than you need. They never stock lots at one time so it is best not to wait till the last minute.
