Student Level: Beginner to Advance - All levels welcome
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
|
Come join Encaustic Artist, Linda McNulty, for an adventure into Encaustic Jewelry making, and find out how easy and fun it is to play with warm encaustic wax! Creating in a relaxed environment focused on play and experimentation, Linda McNulty will guide you through the making of a small double-sided Encaustic Painting, using techniques which include color layering, intaglio and photo-transfer, which you then will turn into a completed necklace, through her guidance.
Encaustic Art is experiencing a revival among artists, since lying dormant in the Egyptian tombs. The process entails the painting and pouring of warm, pigmented beeswax and tree sap, which is then layered and scraped, revealing its naturally luminous and transparent nature. Encaustic Painting is combined with the wearable form for the first time in Linda McNulty’s work and classes.
