Utilizing daily collected bits of life's "ephemera," assemble a journal completely from scratch. Using painted pages ("the good, the bad and the not so finished") that you will make in class and a variety of my favorite paper cut to different sizes (YOU get to choose the sizes), assemble a journal using the daily scraps of an artist. If you have painted page "scraps" from home (waxed paper, scrap paper, newspaper, etc..-anything that you may have painted with and don't want to part with, please feel free to bring it to class. The more "scraps" we add the fuller, fresher and funkier the book will feel. (Don't have "scraps" from home, we'll improvise in class!) Using canvas as the cover, "scraps" as the pages, and fibers/rags/embellishments (which YOU will paint and create yourself) you will create one of THE most envied journals of the year. You WILL walk out of class with a hand painted, hand made, completely ready-to-work-in journal assembled with YOUR hands under creative (and instructive) guidance.
