Lines, Lines, Lines…
Wednesday & Thursday Evening $125Didi Bourbon 6:30 - 9:30 Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process to Project
This is a 6 hour workshop taught on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
An active and energized exploration of color and the most basic element of design: line. We’ll paint strips and chunks of canvas then tear, cut, combine and reconfigure them into small scale works that could be journal covers, placemats, pillows, wall hangings or ??? By limiting ourselves to these most basic elements, we’ll be forced to draw from our imaginations, plunge deep into our well of creativity and discover just how darn cool and inventive we really are. Simple easily mastered techniques free us up for a play date with the design principles of rhythm, harmony, scale, positive/negative space, unity, balance, repetition…you get the picture. We’ll get our color mojo working and go mano-a-mano with pesky color theory.
