Explore the world of wire coiling, I will show you how to work assembly line style as you learn how to create six different jewelry components. Patinas will also be covered. We will then embellish a metal shape with mixed media techniques that will in turn become the centerpiece of your coiled necklace in this project driven class.
Supplies provided by instructor for student’s use in class include:
Drills
Steel mandrels
Saws
Saw blades
Bench pins
Liver of sulfur (to age your copper)
Sand paper
Polishing cloths
Angel blank
Inks
Stamps
Collage papers
Adhesives
Wooden beadsSupply List:
Wire: annealed steel or copper one package each of 16, 18, 20, gauge. (These wires can be found in most hardware stores and come in packages with 100 ft of wire.)
Round nose pliers
Bent nose pliers (or second pair of chain nose.)
Chain nose pliers
Flush cutters
Ball peen Hammer
Bench block
8mm beads (or larger)
