| Susan Lenart Kazmer | |
| Student Level: Beginner but anyone wanting to learn about jewelry tools | |
| Type of Workshop: Process – some will make a small project |
I align myself with a common philosophy in metals held during the 1950’s and 1960’s as having a belief in minimal tools giving the creator a chance to be more inventive. Therefore, practicing simplicity, it is very important what tool one chooses to work with to get the job done right. I have come to love my tools and all of the techniques that bring about the magic of jewelry making. In this combination lecture and hands on workshop. Learn how the Foredom flexible shaft can be used as a solitary metalworking tool. Learn proper piercing, dapping, fabricating, forming, filing, polishing, oxidizing and finishing work to complete your metal work. Try your hand at a small project.
Kit fee of $12.00 payable to Instructor at class time includes: brass and copper sheet metal, eyelets, use of oxidizers and sandpaper; handouts.
