Donna Lewis

Donna is an award winning metal clay artist and educator who moved to Scottsdale, AZ from Milwaukee, WI in 1985.

After early studies in metalsmithing, she tried PMC in 2004, and was instantly smitten. As she assisted students with their projects; she realized that helping others succeed was a most gratifying experience. This sent her on her mission to open up the world of metal clay.

Donna offers classes, workshops and private lessons in the Phoenix area, and travels to hold workshops. She has taught in Sonoma, CA at the Sonoma Glass Art & Bead Festival, and the Manning House in Tucson, AZ, ART Unraveled in Phoenix AZ, and Adorn Me! in Houston TX. Donna has been teaching workshops for ten years at The Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee, JOGS show for Jewelry Tools in Tucson, Bead Fest Santa Fe, Bead Fest Texas and Bead Fest Fall Tacoma.

Two of Donna's pieces were finalists in the 2007 and 2008 Saul Bell Design Award Competition. She was also a finalist in the Celebrating Beads, the Journey of Design Competition at the Bead Museum, Washington, DC. Her piece "Through the Heart" was on display in the anti-war medal show at the Shaw Gallery, Northeast Harbor ME. and in the 2010 PMC Guild Cultural Messages, Symbolism throughout the ages exhibit at Purdue University. "Tiniwrap", a mixed bronze clay and recycled material piece, was in Art of the Martini at Zaruba and Zaruba Gallery Fredericksburg MD.

Donna's work has been in Exceptional Works in Metal Clay and Glass, Wardell Publications. Her piece "Queen's Ransom" was the cover of the 2008 Art and Design of Metal Clay Calendar by Holly Gage. Donnas pieces are also in Making Beads with Metal Clay, Barbara Becker Simon; Lark Books and she is included in the Lark Books publication 30 Minute Earrings spring 2010. Donna has had pieces in the 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Art and Design of Metal Clay Calendar by Holly Gage. Her ring "Rutile Adorned" won 2nd place in the North American Design Competition. Her work has also been published in three issues of the PMC Guild Annual.

LiL BeLLAâ„¢ metal clay humidifier is Donna's invention. The early version was featured in Ce Ce Wire's book, New Directions in Metal Clay by Lark Books. The LiL BeLLA has been sold worldwide since 2004.
