Mary Ellen Merrigan

A discoverer of my own creativity in my 50's, I'm profoundly amazed by the joy of making art and its overarching effects. When I began beading, cellular inspiration burst forth with color, embellishments, shapes, detailed stitching and all things bead-related. Thanks to beads and bead art, my heart expanded to re-frame my lifelong involvement with marketing, sales and communications. I teach courses and coach others on marketing with social media and expanding visibility through effective self-promotion. I now refer to myself the HeART Mentor. I'm an advocate for artists and their businesses and art business organizations. Because of my intuition and spontaneity, I frequently guide conversations to 'light bulb moments' and solutions that work for business artists. Traditionalists call this strategic, but I think of it as aligning business objectives with heart/soul values. My uncommon common sense approach sets me apart. I listen carefully, distill your brilliant ideas and offer a three-stage customized plan of easy-to-implement strategies. I'm direct. I'm realistic. And I follow up every step of the way. (And by the way, we'll have fun with it, too!) My innate ability to understand a multitude of businesses and recall details makes me a strong long-term ally. Continuous learning is important to me, so my education is ongoing and includes1 2015 re-certification in Marketing with Social Media and Internet Marketing from VA Classroom, as well as 2016 branding courses from Art-Mark and Tracking Wonder. In-between I find time to relax and keep up with what's current in the beading world with a variety of bead workshops. The proof is in the accolades. In over thirty years, my expertise has earned me awards designating me an Excellent Woman, the New Mexico Small Business Administration's Women Business Champion and New Mexico Broadcaster of the Year. More importantly, I've empowered others as a speaker, blogger, workshop leader and advocate for heart-centered communication. In addition, I find ways to give a portion of my time and proceeds to those less fortunate through involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor 2.0 as well as programs for the New Mexico Bead Society and others. I'm happiest when I'm re-inventing the status quo and dealing with rapid change. Let me help you address the tangle of today's marketing channels. Together we will sort, prioritize and simplify your marketing tactics. You'll say: "I wish I'd done this sooner!" Really! Life's too short. Give up the struggle.
