Finally, a Tell-All class about making a ring and setting a cabochon! De-mystify silver soldering and stone setting. This class will boost your confidence in using a torch and creating beautiful rings you can be proud of.

You will learn: Silver soldering, how to make a stamped and cut bezel, bezel setting, how to pick cabochons, sweat soldering, proper stamping techniques, various texturing techniques and finishing.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

  • $65.00 (Based on Silver @ $17/ounce & Gold @ $1,170/ounce)
  • 2 - 20 gauge sterling silver sheet 1/2" x 3"
  • 20 gauge sterling silver sheet 2" x 2"

Instructor Provided (for use in-class, and to share):

  • Ring Finger Gauge (sizer)
  • Burnisher (bezel pusher)
  • Ring mandrel
  • Liver of Sulfur Gel
  • Solder set-up
  • Hole punch pliers

Student should bring:

  • Cabochon (Instructor will have some for sale at time of class)
  • Bench Block
  • Files
  • Straight edge
  • Sharpie
  • Rawhide malletz
  • Scribe (awl)
  • Jeweler's saw w/ #2/0 blades
  • Bench Pin
