This is a workshop in letting go and giving yourself permission to do so. I've been on a quest to save wasted paint for quite some time now. How can we take our love of acrylics, color, collage and our palettes and transform them into something new?

What if you combined your passion for paint and paper and turn our palette into a working journal?

We'll create a user friendly, simple journal made from scratch. We'll then work quickly and start to prep our pages. Learn how to let go on the page as you transform this one of a kind creation into something unique and completely your own.

I will be bringing a wide selection of rubber stamps, ink pads, stencils and collage materials. You’re always welcome to bring your own supplies to use but this is a small heads up that I tend to bring everything but the kitchen sink in my classes!

My workshops are always about inspiring creativity, generating ideas and learning how to see. The ideas can be translated into a variety of art forms. Use your art journal "as is" or for a springboard of inspiration for other art forms and living a creative life!

Student should bring:

  • your journal (or several sheets of cardstock to work on. We are making a journal but I like to go back and forth between my journal and my palette book for this workshop)
  • IF you have a 01 Mini Catalyst Tool please bring it to class (I will have a few to share. Trust me when I say that after this workshop, you will want one)
  • an apron
  • scissors
  • a small selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images and papers)
  • cork back metal ruler
  • a full roll of paper towels OR old rags
  • permanent black ink pad (only if you have one)
  • a container for your paint water
  • your favorite paint brushes
  • a few of your favorite glue sticks (trust me when I say that large glue sticks will last you longer)
  • roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

Some workshops may require that you bring supplies or tools that you may not presently possess. If you'd like to place an advance order for jewelry supplies & tools for pick-up at the on-site Jewelry Supply store when you arrive at ARTU19, contact:
