Imagine and paint flora and succulent garden abstractions in watercolors in a very forgiving way. Paint with freedom to explore new avenues, textures and techniques. We'll work with acrylic fling textures with acrylic tar gel, spatters, collage, and opaque shapes to abstract the flora shapes. Fair warning! Spatters and ribbons of paint can get messy and fun! Collage bits will be added for texture and mark making. Opaque shapes will be introduced with acrylics. Part of the beauty of these techniques reveal the path for more creative ways of expression. The process will also allow you to discover ways to simplify and express color in new directions. Wet into wet painting techniques will bring rich and brilliant color to the paper. Paint with big brushes loaded with pigment and water and find new directions in painting.

Students will paint 2 watercolor collage paintings.
